I love doing senior shoots! Can we talk about how much easier it is to take someone's picture who stands still and has an attention span greater than 10minutes?? HA! You all know I absolutely love my family sessions but just so nice to actually get to think about composing a good shot and getting my lighting JUST right. And with a subject this gorgeous!!! I mean I love my job!
One thing I wanted to highlight in this post was often times I get clients asking me, "What should I wear to a photo shoot?" LaShaeya (with the help of her stylist my friend Ann as seen HERE) rocked her style and wore an outfit that popped beautifully on the camera.
-#1: BASIC: Wearing the hottest trend that may involve busy patterns or multiple layers may look cute in real life, but will wear the subject on camera. Also remember that your photographer (hopefully MOI!) Will want to work with body posing and different positions so anything that is too revealing (read mini skirt), or too fussy should be rethought. (Exceptions would be any particular outfit that a senior would want to highlight such as costume for a play they were a part of or uniform etc.) We are going for basic and low fuss on the outfit itself.
-#2: FACE: The purpose of any portrait is supposed to bring the viewers eyes to the face. When planning an outfit to wear think about adding simple jewelry or layered pieces that would point the viewers eyes to the face. LOVED the way Lasheayas necklace and the V in the blazer she wore brought the focus directly to her face.
-#3: POP: Can we talk about this beautiful hot pink blazer?? Using a statement piece such as LaSheaya's pink blazer in a bright and solid color that is flattering to your skin tone looks fantastic on camera.
I think it HILARIOUS that I just gave a fashion essay to anyone! But hopefully this will help if you are questioning what to wear to your next photo shoot!!
